Dry Humping
Meaning
Dry humping is likely one of the safest sexual activities there is.
It involves humping, rubbing and twerking on each other with all your clothes on.
Even though it is often considered a bit more challenging, “dry humping” can, in many cases, lead to climax.
The man can feel pleasure by the other person twerking and rubbing against his penis – from outside his clothes, and the woman can rub her clit through her clothes against for example the other person’s thigh.
This sexual activity does not come with any dangers of catching an STI, nor pregnancy. It is even religion-safe, as technically, no one is touching your private parts.
Origin
The reason this activity is called “dry” humping is because no bodily fluids are exchanged between the partners, thanks to the clothes between them. The activity is therefore “dry”.
Humping just describes the types of movement the partners are involved in, for example if they imitate penetrative sex, but because of the clothes, you are just “humping” your penis towards the other person.
Humping already had sexual connotations centuries ago, and was first recorded in such a way in 1785.
Spread and Usage
The slang “dry humping” has been in use since around the 60’s, and is usually the sexual activity young people turn to before they are ready (or “allowed”) to have real sex.
In the 2011 movie “Bad Teacher”, we see main actor Cameron Diaz “dry humping” with Justin Timberlake, to the point where he cums due to the activity.
Some turn to “dry humping” as foreplay before the real deal, and others even have it as a kink, because of the edging excitement of never going all the way.
As with everything else sexual, there are thousands of “dry humping” porn videos to be found online.
