Paypig
Meaning
Paypig is the term for the submissive member of a findom (financial domination) relationship, acting as the personal piggy bank of the dominatrix.
The term is meant to have at least some level of pejorative meaning, as part of financial domination is humiliating the submissive, along with extorting money out of them.
Origin
With an underground phenomenon such as findom, it is rather hard to determine when and where phrases and expressions originate from, however, financial domination is a practice, that is relatively new, so its origin may be traced back to the second half of the 20th century.
“Paypig” refers to a submissive in a humiliating way, while also reflecting on their (possibly solitary) role in the relationship, while also making a reference to a piggy bank.
Spread and Usage
In the golden age of capitalism, a craze with money is an expected cultural phenomenon, that embeds itself into a large amount of people, resulting in them looking for the easiest ways of making money, which includes financial domination.
With more and more findoms on Earth, the number of “paypigs” is also growing steadily.
The term first appeared on Urban Dictionary in 2007, with only a few other entries written since that time.
